This test case may be executed by:

  • Shop Supervisor
  • Shop Second
  • Building Operations Administrator


Purpose

Use Reports to locate shared operational reports, review and filter report data, sort the results, and export a copy for additional analysis or distribution.

Before you begin

Confirm that you have access to Reports and the applicable shared reports.

Know the report title or a keyword that can be used to find it.

Know the date range, status, project, task, workgroup, or other criteria required for the review.

Confirm that your browser permits file downloads when you plan to export the report.

Find an Operational Report

Step 1: Open Reports

1. Open the main navigation menu. https://frs-qa.usgov.tririga.com/

2. Select Reports.

3. The Reports workspace opens with My Reports and Community tabs.

Step 2: Search the shared report catalog

1. Select Community to review reports shared for broader use.

2. Enter all or part of the report title in the Title filter.

3. Use the other available filters, such as Name, Tag, Module, Business Object, Form, Display Type, or Object Label, when needed.

4. Select Apply Filters.

5. Review the matching reports and confirm the correct title, module, business object, form, and display type.

6. Open the applicable report. The demonstration opens Time Log.

Review and Filter the Report

Step 1: Review the report columns

1. Review the columns displayed by the report.

2. For the Time Log report, the visible information includes status, created date and time, project, labor code, cost code type, task ID, task name, task description, punch start, punch end, and workgroup.

3. Use the horizontal scrollbar when additional columns extend beyond the visible page.

4. Select a linked status or record value when the underlying record must be opened.

Step 2: Filter and sort the results

1. Enter filter values beneath the applicable column headings.

2. Use the displayed operators, such as Contains, After, or Before, to define the filter.

3. Select Apply Filters to refresh the results.

4. Select a column heading or its sort control to sort the report in ascending or descending order.

5. Confirm that the resulting records match the intended operational review.

Export the Report

Step 1: Download the results

1. Review the current filters and sort order before exporting.

2. Select the download icon in the report toolbar.

3. When prompted by the browser, select the destination and file name.

4. Save the exported Microsoft Excel worksheet.

5. Open the downloaded file and confirm that the expected report rows and columns are included.

Expected result

The user can locate an operational report, review and narrow the report results, sort the displayed information, and export the report for further analysis.

Common mistakes to avoid

Searching only My Reports when the needed report is available under Community.

Using a report with a similar title without checking its module, business object, form, and display type.

Applying filters to the wrong column or overlooking the active operator.

Exporting before confirming that the current filters and sort order are correct.

Assuming the export failed without checking the browser download prompt or Downloads folder.
